Overview
Parents work in partnership with a learning consultant and their child to provide, support, and nurture a learning environment at home, in the community, and at the Learning Centre.
Parent roles and responsibilities include:
- facilitate the completion of learning activities at home
- work with their child at home on a regular and consistent basis
- participate in scheduled Student Learning Plan conferences
- maintain regular contact with the learning consultant
- ensures their child’s regular attendance
- share evidence of learning (3 end of term portfolios)
- complete check-ins and directed projects
PAC
The Home Learners Program PAC is active in providing opportunities to educate and inform parents about the school, involving parents in volunteer activities and fundraising, and openly discussing parents’ concerns and aspirations for the program and the Hume Park Learning Centre.
